LIMBAL STEM CELLS

Limbal stem cells are obtained from corneal limbus obtained from the healthy eye in patients with unilateral disease or from cadaver in patients with bilateral disease. Cells are seeded and expanded on top of decellularized amniotic membrane using GMP a proprietary procedure approved by the Spanish Medicine Agengy. They are provided as sterile dressing.

Limbal stem cells are presently used in a clinical trial on treatment of corneal blindness.
